Technology Education

I teach Information Technology. While there are many ares of technology education (Building Construction, Automotive, etc.), my area of expertise is "IT". Information Technology deals with the use of electronic means to store, manage or transfer data and the care and maintanence of equipment associated with this field. This sounds a bit "stuffy" doesn't it? How about "using cool gadgets to do cool stuff"? Maybe the truth lies somewhere in between.

The world is changing rapidly. With these changes come challenges for education to keep up. My goal is to expose students to the wide range of IT fields in hopes that some students will desire to make career choices in this area--or at least they will know that this is NOT the vocation in which they want to try to succeed. The following are content areas covered in our computer-based, modular IT class at Pelion High School:
