Overview
After obtaining a BME (Music Education) from USC,
I attended what is now called Columbia Graduate School for 3 quarters.
Pretty cheap, huh! I lack only a few classes from having what is known
as a one year "Certificate in Biblical Studies".
I then took a position as Band Director of North
Central High School in Kershaw County. Over a period of 16 years I taught
band, music, social studies, History, Biology, English, Chorus, Government
and Guitar in Kershaw, Aiken and Allendale Counties. Along the way,
I picked up advanced skills in computers and technology.
I came to Lexington School District One to teach
a new Information Technology program at Pelion High School in 2001.
This program involves teaching Networking, PC Repair and Programming/Web
Design.
After 4 years, I am now a Technology Integration
Specialist at Pelion Middle School. Obtaining such a position has been
a goal for many years. I LOVE IT!
I was able to complete a 22 month Masters Program
through Lesley University in March, 2002. I now hold an M. Ed. in Educational
Technology and upgraded my SC teachning certificate to Masters +30 in
December of 2004.
I have just under 60 total graduate hours in educational technology.
Playing jazz guitar, along with many other styles,
is one of my main interests. While trumpet is my major instrument, I generally
play guitar and piano the most.
