PageTutor
This is a great site for beginning tutorial in HTML. I use this site with my level 1 Information Technology class.
Flaming Text
A good place to start for designing your own text as graphics. These make much more interesting looking titles, links, etc. than plain text.
Macromedia
THE definitive web design software for professionals comes from Macromedia. The two most popular and colaborative programs are Dreamweaver (for web pages) and Flash (for web animations).
Adobe
The industry-standard image editing application is Adobe PhotoShop. This site offers great information about this and other Adobe products.
CSS Tutor This site seems to do a great job of explaining cascading style sheets-a powerful way of setting up web pages to be easily managable and dynamic.
TechTV
A great site for REAL tech enthusiasts! Anand is a "household name" in the tech world.
Tom's Hardware
Like anandtech, this site provides up-to-date reviews and tips on PC's. Another "not your fathers tech website".
AnandTech
If you want to know about the DETAILS on the latest PC hardware and software this is the place.
Cert21
Great Training CD's and practice exams on IT topics--FREE DEMO VIDEOS!
CBTNuggets
Computer-Based Training-Better get use to the term. This site has plenty of FREE DEMOS. I actually learned how to create my own browser in VB 6.
PC Magazine
A good general site for reviews, the lates tech, etc. Look for John Dvorak's articles. From the publishers of PC Magazine (hard copy).
Maximum PC
Another Online affiliate of a hard copy magazine. No fluff-just hard core tech.

BestBuy
I use this site to get pricing and research on a tech item in which I may be interested.
BestBookBuys
Comparitive shopping for books. Great for finding best prices for tech books and other subjects.

Certifications

CompTIA's A+
The Certified Computer Technician is called "A+" and is probably the most well-know certification in the industry. Find out about what is probably the first exam one should take if he/she is interested in the IT support field.
Net+
Network+ is the entry-level network technician certification sponsored by CompTIA. Information on requirements and exam registration is available here.
Certified Novell Administrator
Check here for information about the first step (CNA) towards Certified Novell Engineer (CNE).
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Cisco's enrty-level certification in network routing and switching is a highly sought after acheivement. Check here for details.
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
MCSE is the Microsft standard for Network engineers. Find More Information here.
Microsoft Office Specialist
MOS certification is the Industry Standard certification for validating expertise in the MS Office applications.
