The following items constitute
the minimum “web presence” for teachers:
- Teacher’s name is on each class page. *
- Rename the class so that it is more descriptive. DO NOT REMOVE or ALTER the
SASI NUMBER! *
- NCLB information can be done in a variety of ways: PowerPoint template, Word
or text document, PowerPoint presentation, etc. **
- Course syllabus or overview of course - Most easily done in a Word document.
Can be the same document that the teacher distributes at the beginning of the
year. **
- Explanation of grading scheme. (The more clearly this document explains the
scheme, the fewer questions parents will ask!) **
- Daily assignments or weekly newsletter containing expectations for the week.
(Could be published as one document at the beginning of the week, but would
be more user friendly if individual assignments were associated with each day.
This would make the combined calendar function much more powerful.) ***
- Three links to class related information. ****
Jeff’s commentary
* type your last name,
(first initial if needed) in front of the class name: (Jones, J – 1st
Period Social Studies)—this is under “Manage Class” —make
sure you know what class it is—go back and click “email members”
on left toward the bottom to see a roster
**Please use separate documents sparingly—it is better to “Enter
text by hand”—you can just copy and paste from your beginning of
year letter file or bring last year’s content over if useful (click on
“Old Class Materials”—as described on other directions given)
***You could upload your lesson plans if you feel it is useful—also you
CAN put tests and other important things in the calendar
****click “links” on the left—enter the name of the site (title)
and then the complete link (example http://www.yahoo.com )—these should
be links to sites that a parent or student might find useful
